UNIVERSITY AND COLLEGE PROGRAMS
There are a number of B.C. university and college horticulture
programs available for students interested in science and
greenhouses:
Camosun College, Victoria, BC
Offers a 10-month Horticultural Technician Certificate program. It includes two work experience terms.
Kwantlen
University College, Langley, BC
Offers seven different programs including Integrated Pest Management, Horticulture Production, and Greenhouse and Nursery Production.
Malaspina
University College, Nanaimo, BC
Offers a 12-month Horticultural Technician Certificate. It also offers various
horticulture courses through its continuing education program.
North Island College, Courtenay, BC
Offers an eight-month Greenhouse Management Certificate.
Okanagan College, Kelowna, BC
Offers an 18-week Horticulture Pre-Apprentice Program.
Simon
Fraser University, Burnaby, BC
Offers a Master’s Degree in Pest Management through the Department of
Biological Sciences.
Thompson Rivers University, Kamloops, BC
Offers a thirty-five week Horticulture Certificate Program.
University College of the Fraser Valley, Chilliwack, BC
Offers a Horticulture Crop Production Certificate, an Integrated Pest Management Certificate and an Agriculture Technology Diploma programs
University
of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC
Offers a Bachelor's Degree in Agroecology with a horticulture concentration through the Faculty of Land and Food Systems.
Our association partners with educational institutions to bring knowledge and
understanding to the greenhouse vegetable sector – one of B.C.’s
agriculture success stories. We work with students and educators to identify
and conduct projects, some inside our greenhouses, which help our growers be
world leaders in areas such as production and pest management.
